Care Assistants Wanted at Solhem

We are looking for more dedicated care assistants who want to help create a safe and dignified everyday life for our elderly. At Solhem, you will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work where you make a real difference in people's lives.

Your Responsibilities

As a care assistant at Solhem, you provide personal care and social support based on the residents' needs. Your work is characterized by responsibility, collaboration, and a striving to provide the best possible care. As a care assistant with us, you advocate for our residents' autonomy, integrity, and participation, so that they can feel well-being. We work together to give the elderly a meaningful and stimulating everyday life.

You can expect varied tasks; assisting with meals, dressing and undressing, mobility, personal hygiene, escorting, walks, and providing security to break isolation. Service tasks include laundry, bed-making, shopping, and cleaning. Documenting the care and support you provide is an important part of the daily work.

The role also includes performing certain health and medical tasks as delegated.

About the Workplace

Solhem is a special accommodation consisting of the departments Herrgården and Solby, which together accommodate 32 places. There are also several common areas, including a pleasant lounge furnished with antique furniture and a gym. Recently, Solhem has also opened a new communal dining room where both coffee and other activities are offered.

The building is single-story, making it easily accessible for the elderly to enjoy the outdoor environment. We have several outdoor areas where we spend a lot of time during spring, summer, and autumn. When the weather permits, we set up outside and have our meals there. During the summer, we also move many of our activities outdoors to enjoy the beautiful weather.

We work in teams with broad expertise and a shared commitment to our residents. To ensure high-quality care, we have support roles such as quality leaders, meal coordinators, and activity coordinators. We collaborate closely with nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists to create a meaningful and stimulating everyday life – where every individual is seen, heard, and respected.

Your Profile

  • We are looking for someone who is a trained care assistant.
  • Previous experience in special accommodation is an advantage, as well as knowledge and/or experience working with individuals with dementia.
  • You are accustomed to working with digital tools such as mobile phones, computers, or tablets.
  • You can express yourself fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written, and possess good knowledge of Swedish to document the care you provide and communicate with our residents.
  • As some tasks require good physical fitness, it is important that this requirement is also met.

We expect you to have personal maturity and be both self-reliant and service-oriented. You take responsibility, are flexible, and can handle stressful situations. You are proactive and attentive to residents' needs and show respect for others. You find it easy to collaborate with residents, relatives, colleagues, and other staff.

We Offer You

For us, it is important that all our employees find a balance between work and home, feel secure in their employment, and experience an increased quality of life by working in the municipality. If we succeed in this, there are good conditions for also succeeding in our common task, which is:

  • We do what we are supposed to do by taking joint responsibility for our democratic mission, using our resources wisely, and always keeping our focus on those we are here for.
  • We do it well and are proud of our work and the results we achieve, and we welcome engaged and courageous employees who want to develop and improve together with us.
  • We do it together by collaborating and learning from each other. Dialogue is important to us, and we find new solutions together with those we are here for, with trust, care, and respect.

We strive for a health-promoting work environment, job satisfaction, community, and personal development. Competence development is a given, and we encourage our employees to further develop through courses, training, and networking.
